This place is not for the faint of heart, as their name suggests. But don't worry, you won't actually die by tequila here, unless you really overdo it on their extensive selection of tequilas and mezcals. The atmosphere is laid-back and chic with a modern twist on traditional Mexican decor. The menu boasts a unique fusion of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds. I highly recommend trying their guacamole with grasshoppers if you're feeling adventurous or their short rib tacos for something more traditional, but equally delicious. The drinks are just as impressive as the food, with creative concoctions like the Smoked Pineapple Margarita and the Dragonfruit Mojito. My only complaint? I wish they had bigger glasses because I could have sipped on those all night. Overall, Death By Tequila is a must-visit spot for any foodie or tequila lover in Encinitas.
